A Day with TTRace: When Racing Motorbikes Brought Joy to the Hospital

14/10/2026

Motorbikes are a symbol of speed, adrenaline, and victory. This time, however, they brought joy, unforgettable experiences, and new hope to children spending their days at the Hemato-Oncology Department of the University Hospital in Pilsen.

On Friday, October 2, the Pilsen-based company TTRace brought racing motorcycles directly to the children's ward. The children were treated to an afternoon full of motorbikes, a racing simulator, competitions, and small rewards. The goal was simple – to brighten their day, bring a smile to their faces, and give them a chance to think about something other than their treatment, if only for a moment.
The program was also tailored for children who have already successfully completed their treatment. Among the guests was TTRace team rider Jakub Šprojcar, who fought a serious illness himself years ago. Today, he races on European tracks, and his story showed the children that even after a difficult stage in life, one can return to doing what they love.
TTRace is a Pilsen-based company that manufactures custom racing suits and motorcycle gear with airbag systems for both adult and young riders – protecting them from as early as four years of age. That is why this event holds a deeply personal meaning for the company. It was also inspired by the story of eleven-year-old racer Eliška, who is currently fighting an oncological illness herself.
But the story didn't end there.
The children from the ward signed a special carbon helmet featuring unique custom paintwork created specifically for this occasion. Its value lies not just in the carbon fiber, design, or signatures. It lies in the children's stories, their courage, strength, and hope.
The helmet is now heading to a public auction, which you can find right here: HELMET AUCTION
If you don't wish to bid on the helmet but still want to help the children, you can contribute any amount to the transparent bank account: 1013005075/5500
All proceeds will be donated to the HAIMA Plzeň association, which provides long-term support to children with hematological and oncological illnesses and their families.
Because sometimes the greatest victory isn't crossing the finish line first. Sometimes victory simply means never giving up…
