Overview:
The Tech-Air® 5 is a fully autonomous electronic airbag
vest developed by Alpinestars, designed primarily for road use. It provides
unparalleled upper body protection without requiring any connection to the
motorcycle. The system functions using built-in accelerometers and gyroscopes —
no GPS needed — and is software-controlled for precision and speed.
Once a crash is detected, the airbag inflates in 20 to 40
milliseconds, stabilizing the shoulders, collarbones, chest, ribs, and back.
The vest can be worn under any motorcycle jacket that offers at least 4 cm of
expansion space around the chest, or jackets with stretch panels that allow
proper airbag inflation.
